Sabbath~ It's a Celebration!

"The Creator and His creatures rested together. Wouldn't you have done the same? Don't you love to take time to celebrate together with your children? Well, God did not want a birthday celebration just once a year, but once a week-every week, on the seventh day, He wants us to remember that we can rest in His faithfulness. So, He set it apart and made it holy so that His children would have a constant reminder that He is their Creator and eventual Redeemer.
By the way, check ...this out! We start to get a glimpse of the creation-redemption theme running from Genesis to Revelation when we analyze this one word in genesis 2:2: "completed" (as it relates to the seventh-day rest celebrating the completion of Creation). The word used in the Septuagint (LXX, the Greek translation of the Old Testament) for "completed" in Genesis 2:2 is the same Greek root word that Jesus cried out at the cross!! "it is completed!" "it is finished!" "it has been accomplished!" (John19:30). Woo-Hoo!"

From a great little book that I'm reading- "I will give you rest~ The eternal gospel for the weary soul" by Elizabeth Viera Talbot

I was able to get this book from Jesus 101 website- in fact, I had the app on my phone. And ever so often they do a deal to get a free book. So I am able to get this book for free. They have so many awesome resources on this website- things you can listen to and thing you can watch. Be sure and check it out! :O)
